Yes, I know, it’s been a while. I’ve been “hearing it” from AnnaMaria’s fan club!
Here’s a quick update…We slept in the new house, for the first time on September 1. Slowly, but surely, we’re getting settled in. We packed all the non essential items before we left for Guatemala, so it was nice to have that done when it was time to move. There are still several small issues to repair or complete and still things to move from the old house. But we feel pretty settled and all the boxes are unloaded. We welcome visitors!
We are still trying to sell the old house. We have had some interest lately and we pray it will move quickly.
AnnaMaria had her first ear infection last week. She was pretty fussy and had trouble sleeping for a few days. She is feeling much better and is sleeping through the night. It seems like she’s been here forever and she is enjoying the activity frenzy. She loves being with other children. She usually draws a crowd when we go to events for her siblings and she likes the little boys in the church nursery.
We hope to start some physical therapy for AnnaMaria in the near future. She’s come a long way with her motor skills, but she’s still a bit delayed for 11 months old (this is typical for Guatemalan babies). She can scoot in a sitting position, but doesn’t crawl or pull up yet. I’ve considered putting Pledge on her bottom and turning her loose on the wood floors, but I haven’t followed through yet!
Jeff will be celebrating a new birthday this week. During our adoption paper chase, we were reminded that Jeff’s birth certificate listed his birthday as September 26th, although he had always celebrated on the 25th. According to the State of NY and the Air Force (he was born on an AF Base) his birthday is September 26th; end of discussion. We had to change his Driver’s License and be sure his passport dates matched his birth certificate. So, for now and evermore, his birthday is September 26th.
Hopefully, October will be filled with more photos of AnnaMaria’s birthday and fall on the farm! Thanks for sticking with us.
