It's amazing how exciting the mail can be when you are waiting for something to arrive! It reminds me a bit of waiting for snail mail in college.
We applied for our 171H form on 11/8 in Louisville with the immigration office. After one correction, a Federal employee shortage (apparently only two people process those and one was off work for a month) and lots of Federal holidays....today was the day we learned we were approved to bring an adopted child into the US.
Now that we have the form, the Guatemalan attorney will arrange for DNA testing to match AnnaMaria to the birth mother.
Otherwise, we're just waiting. Our other paperwork is in Guatemala being translated and the attorney there is preparing his part of the paperwork.
We still have a long way to go, but a little progress is so nice! AnnaMaria turned 3 months old this week.
