Well Little Miss didn’t want to go to sleep, so bedtime was a bit of a challenge. We had two separate rooms last night as that was all that was available until today. Claire and I were supposed to share the room with AnnaMaria, but after about 30 minutes of fussing, Claire bailed out on me. At one point when we had tried to lay her down and then had to get her up again, she gave Jeff the funniest, “I got your number” sort of look! It really wasn’t too bad and then she slept most of the night. In her defense, I don’t think she likes the crib. It’s a pack-n-play type thing and she is really close to the floor.
We awoke this morning to sunshine and a rooster crowing. It felt like Easter! The dark and depressing parade was indeed a good set up to appreciate resurrection morning.
We all got up and ready for church this morning. We had directions to a “Christian” church. They seem to use the work Christian here as we would Protestant. Anyway, we didn’t find it and decided to eat breakfast instead. On the way back to the hotel we found the church, but the service was underway and we decided not to go in. It sounded pretty loud and rowdy.
Back at the hotel we moved into a 2 bedroom, 1 bath suite. It is not luxurious, but perfectly fine. There is a community kitchen we can use and a nice courtyard with fresh coffee and bottled water all day. The cost is $80/night, so it is certainly reasonable.
Claire has AnnaMaria’s music on her ipod. We brought a CD player and several CDs to leave with her on our last trip. Claire said as soon as she turned the music on so that AnnaMaria could hear it, she had a big smile.
We tried to attend the parade at 1 pm today, but it didn’t get started on time. We met up with another adoptive family from our hotel. We decided to have lunch with them and then caught the parade as it was circling around to the end. Today’s parade was bright and happy with a large float of Jesus, Mary and an angel, carried on people’s shoulders.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed dinner at McDonalds this evening. Now Jeff and I need to find something to eat. Jeff offered to go out and bring something back, but I wonder how he will communicate that. All is well! Hope to get some photos up soon.
