I received the email today from the US Embassy in Guatemala saying that we have pre-approval to take AnnaMaria to the US.
Here's some more info on where we stand:
Family Court - On 2/15, a Guatemalan Social Worker interviewed AnnaMaria's birthmom. I have not gotten any status updates on that. The report may be complete or should be completed soon. That report is required to enter "PGN", which is the final Guatemalan department to review our case.
PGN takes a minimum of 4 weeks, but may take much, much longer. Sometimes cases are submitted to PGN without the families knowing. It would be great to learn we're already there. They always kick the cases out for some reason and ask for more information, corrections, or clarifications. So we're prepared for that.
