We didn't quite know how to get our new friend out of the apartment. We looked outside for Juan Jose, the caretaker, but he was no where to be seen. Mr. Owl made a couple of attempts at a closed window, which stunned him for a moment. He finally flew back to the top of the cabinets.
The screens here are screwed onto the outside of the windows. Thanks to my handy pink screwdriver from home, we were able to remove the screen and Mr. Owl escaped. We felt quite accomplished!
Unfortunately the saga probably doesn't end here. We've been hearing birds in the chimney of our fireplace for days. Juan Jose suggested we make a fire and smoke them out, but I really don't want to do that! I'm wondering if its an owl family residing in the chimney.
