AnnaMaria’s visa was NOT ready today at 3:30 as promised at the US Embassy. Their printer was out or something such as that! I’m not even going to comment on that!
We will taxi to the Embassy in the morning around 7:30, come back to the hotel to get our bags and head to the airport to book AnnaMaria’s lap ticket. We can’t get her ticket without her passport and visa. Our flight is to leave at 12:25; just praying we make it.
Otherwise, life is good. We had a light lunch across the street at the Intercontinental hotel. It was just across the street, but leaving the hotel is refreshing. We also had pedicures at the hotel. Lily has really wanted to try that and it was her first. She is sporting a lovely French pedi!
We had dinner at the hotel to round out our day. The restaurant here is really pretty with a waterfall. Now we must get packed again and keep all the bags under 50 lbs….
On the home front…our Yukon has a computer malfunction and the A/C won’t work. Hey, we’re used to breathing the fumes with the windows down, but the Gringos back home thought air conditioning was important for a 15 hr trip to MN. Jeff’s parents have graciously offered to loan us their Suburban, so we’re back in business.
I’m told we get to move into the house on 8/9. That happens to be the day the kids start school again. Lily was concerned that she would go to 6th grade from one house and return to another one. I didn’t have the heart to explain to her how many days or weeks it might actually take to move.
I’ll try to post from MN, but I may be busy fishing with Ollie. That’s what he requested we do together. This time with the girls has been wonderful, but I really miss my boy!
Love to all! Good-bye to Guatemala…we’ll be back, but it may be a while!
