Sonia

Sonia, AnnaMaria and Claire. We took Claire to Guatemala City on Sunday to meet Sonia, our translator. We met at the Intercontinental Hotel (very nice!) where Sonia's church meets each Sunday. Sonia was flying out Monday morning also and was gracious enough to let Claire spend the night with her family and get her safely to the airport. She has been a huge help since we've been in Guatemala.

Claire really enjoyed Sonia's family. When she called me, I could hear the family bird in the background. Claire spent some time alone with Sonia's mom and mostly communicated in Spanish. Sonia's mom asked Claire if she was a Christian. It's easy to tell that their faith is a big part of this family. Claire has gotten a lot more flexible with what she will eat. She enjoyed Sonia's mom's cooking and commented that beans were a staple.
