AnnaMaria and I went out for a stroll to the mailbox after lunch. Those jaunts always remind me of our time in Guatemala. There is a little green starting to show in the woods, but many of the trees are rather ugly with branches that were twisted off under the weight of our ice storms. But, I know as soon as they green up, no one will ever know the pain they have suffered.
We have a hawk who lives in the woods and we see him almost everyday. He flew over us twice on our walk and was making all kinds of noise. It was like he was trying to wake up all the critters.
There is an old “home place” on the old county road leading to our house. It has been abandoned for many years, but the Daffodils still bloom each spring. I can’t help but think about the lady who probably planted those bulbs several decades ago. I’m sure she had no idea that they would brighten this day in my life. What are you and I doing today that will have a positive or negative impact years from now?
