One Year Together

One year ago today, we headed to Nashville to spend the night, so Claire and I could make an early morning June 1 flight to Guatemala. I didn’t know how long I would be there, but I knew I wouldn’t be coming home without AnnaMaria. (We came home on August 1) Getting there turned out to be quite an ordeal with a missed flight, 8 hr layover and then lost luggage. But…Claire and I were embarking on the biggest adventure of our lives and we took it all in stride.

So, on June 2nd AnnaMaria will have been with us for a year. At 19 months, she’s spent the majority of her life with us. Guatemala is feeling farther and farther away, which is sad. However, it’s wonderful to be together as a family. We can’t remember what life was like without our little Bean.

This is my 277th post. Our adventure has been well chronicled! If you’d like to go back and see old posts, click on January 2007 under the Blog Archive list on the left side of the page. You can scroll down to the bottom and hit Older Posts on the bottom right of the screen to go all the way back to the beginning.

This photo was taken on our first day in Antigua. She's been smilin' ever since!

Sharon, How wonderful to put this first year behind you now....It seems like just yesterday that you took off for Guatemala... I remember wishing so much that it could have also been me... but it was not to be. The memories of the difficulties are now fading and we are also so glad to have our little girl home safe and sound. Congrats on this year that has flown by! She's just beautiful in everyway!
